A barber trimming a client's hair with clippers in a warmly lit shop
Two chairs · no rush

A haircut worth sitting still for.

Pearl Bloom is a small barber shop built around one idea: nobody gets hurried out of the chair. Clear prices, named barbers, hot towels as standard.

Tuesday to Saturday Cuts, beards & straight-razor shaves

The craft

We only ever cut one head of hair at a time.

Most shops run three clients at once and call it efficiency. We book a single chair per barber, so the person sitting down gets the whole appointment — the consultation, the cut, the finish, and the honest conversation about whether the shape you asked for will actually suit you.

The room is quiet, the water is hot, and the blades are sharpened weekly. If you have never felt confident explaining what you want, tell us what you dislike instead. That works just as well.

  • Time

Every service is booked with a buffer, so a tricky crown or a stubborn cowlick never runs you into someone else's slot.

  • Hands

Scissor-over-comb, clipper work and straight razor, done by hand. No guesswork, no shortcuts around the ears.

  • Finish

Hot towel, neck shave and a light matte finish, plus a plain explanation of how to keep the shape at home.

Services & prices

Posted plainly, charged exactly.

What you read here is what you pay at the counter. Nothing is quoted on the day and nothing is added for hair that happens to be thick.

The barbers

Ask for someone by name.

Two chairs, three barbers on rotation. Each of them works differently, and you are welcome to say who you would rather sit with when you send your request.

  • Rowan Mertle

    Scissor work & longer shapes

"If your hair has a mind of its own, bring it to me. I would rather work with the growth pattern than fight it for an hour."

  • Ines Vale

    Fades & fine detail

"A fade is just patience with a clipper. I check the blend in three mirrors before I let anyone stand up."

  • Teo Okonkwo

    Beards & straight razor

"Shaving should feel like nothing at all. Hot towel, sharp blade, no dragging — that is the whole trick."

Good to know

Questions we get asked.

Do you take walk-ins?

When a chair is genuinely free, yes. Because we only book one client per barber at a time, a walk-in either fits neatly or not at all — sending a request first saves you the trip.

What happens if I am running late?

Up to ten minutes is fine and we will still give you the full service. Beyond that we may need to shorten the finish so the next person is not pushed back, and we will tell you that honestly when you arrive.

Is this a good first haircut for a child?

It is. First Chair appointments are booked with extra time, there is a seat beside the chair for a grown-up, and nobody minds if we stop halfway for a minute.

How do I change or cancel?

Reply to the confirmation message you receive and we will move the slot. A day's notice means someone else can take the chair, which is the only reason we ask for it.

Request a chair

Tell us when, and who with.

Send this and we will reply with the nearest slot that fits. It is a request rather than a locked booking, so nothing is confirmed until you hear back from us.

If you are not sure which service you need, choose the closest one and say so in the note — your barber will sort it out at the consultation.

We reply to every request, usually the same working day.
